More Ideas for Home Learning

26th March 2020
Below we have some more links for things to work through at home. As always we recommend always supervising children whilst they access the internet as we cannot guarantee that all ads, content etc. on some sites are appropriate.
.

National Literacy Trust

Have developed a new web portal for parents, Family Zone, to support them during this time.
This includes ideas and guidance as well as links to video and audio resources; it is divided into resources for 3 age groups – birth to 4, 5 – 8, 9 – 12.

STEM Learning

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

This area on the STEM site https://www.stem.org.uk/home-learning has free resources for home learning. As well as ideas for practical, fun science activities that you may not have tried before – three for 7-9 year olds and three for 9-11 year olds.

Beanstalk Book Fun

Beanstalk has some great ideas for games to play with your children while you enjoy books.

Animal Webcams

For something completely different, while visits aren’t possible we can still watch animals!  This site contains lots of links to zoos across the world and their animal cams. Why not try to draw or craft some of the animals you see, write a sentence about them, or write/ perform a story with them as the characters!

You will need Google Chrome for some of the cameras.
