Dough Disco! to promote fine motor skills

1st July 2016
Staff at school recently had training on new ideas for developing fine motor skills. They looked at the development of the gross and fine motor skills that all need to be learnt before children can begin formal handwriting.
One of the fab ideas that we were shown was Dough Disco! Pupils use dough to have a 'disco' for their fingers, encouraging them to work fingers individually, roll, splat and a whole host of other skills. We loved it and had a go with several classes straight away. Check our the video of some of KS2 taking part in their first dough disco.
